Sister Isabel Concordia Narciso Magsino, SPC (Sister of St. Paul of Chartres) was born August 13, 1919, in Manila, Philippines from the wedlock of Pedro Vicente Narciso Paras and and Feliza Magsino Urquico.
Education: Two years tutorial at 4 -5 years of age; Primary, Intermediate and Secondary High School with the
Benedictine Sisters; Studies of two years with the Maryknoll Sisters to obtain Elementary Teacher’s Certificate;
Completed Bachelor of Science in Education in St. Paul College of Manila; M.A. Units (Summer courses in U.S.T. Manila,etc ) Associateship in Education ,University of London and Diploma in Educational Administration, University of Reading., England. ; Miscellaneous studies in Music theory, piano, violin, etc. Manila; Hong Kong; Paris; England; Peru.
Field of Work: Philippines, Hong Kong and Peru.
Literary works: Most of her works are religious in nature as “Outpourings of a Heart” with 199 poems, printed in 2000 for private circulation with a FOREWORD by Rev. James P. Moran , S.J. “Pensando en Dios” ( Daily Reflections) December 1-31,2007; January 1 to December 31,2008 and other 69 poems in a separate book also in Spanish many of which are” Oraciones”. She has 262 “Haikus” in her personal collection of poems. Am I my brother’s keeper?
Those were the words of Cain,
When God asked him
Where Abel was –
God saw it all.
Cain killed Abel
-out of jealousy
-out of ambition
-out of hatred.
This scene is repeated.
In every nook of the earth,
Brother’ Brother
Father’s son
Mother’s daughter .
-vice-versa.
Is this BROTHERHOOD?
Blood relatives are they?
Less stunning
When strangers take
The LIFE of the others.
The NEWS makes the hair stand –
Father raping a daughter,
Son, his mother,
Brother, his sister,
Uncle, his niece,
Step-father, his step-daughter.
Is this BROTHERHOOD?
Another PAIN!
When a MOTHER aborts her child,
MURDER?
Poor victim with an unknown future.
He may shine
As a STAR to illumine
The LIFE of a wayward.
He may be
An INSTRUMENT
In a successful invention.
He might LEAD
A NATION to a greater height
OF fame and STRENGTH.
He may reach SANCTITY
To alleviate the sufferings
Of the SAVIOR.
I SEE not only BLOOD thrown away to oblivion,
BUT-
Also REPUTATION destroyed –
-because of the media,
-because of an uncouth tongue,
-because of a godless personality .
Am I my brother’s keeper?
BEWARE!
-DON’T touch
The name precious to God,
-DON’T steal
His property in anyway,
-DON’T kill
His ambition,
-DON’T ruin
Him by underground manipulation.
REMEMBER: I am my brother’s keeper.
If the HEART is ever loving
Toward a BROTHER –
PEACE! PEACE! PEACE!
Will penetrate in us as the air that we breathe;
Our lives will then know the sensation PEACE has;
-its soothing effect,
-its joyous calmness,
-its energizing serenity .
We shall come to appreciate the PEACE of GOD:
-the GOD of LOVE,
-the GOD of TRUTH,
-the GOD of LIGHT
WHO breaks as under the darkness to engulfs us into its
Depth -but -ONLY -if we say to HIM; ENTER IN !
