Just Another Derelict in the Fog

by Sterling Arthur Leva (USA)

In the place where the leaves kiss the brambles

and the moonlight and the streetlamps mingle recklessly,

after the watchmen are sleeping,

before the birds start singing,

you will find me-

A derelict in the fog,

eyes skyward,

heart backwards,

smoking against the wind.
