On the seventh day, Saturn’s day,
of the seventh month, Caesar’s month,
seven vultures, gray-frocked crones,
small heads macabre red,
gather in my tall eucalyptus.
One forager circles out, overhead.
Feather fingers claw the air in slow motion.
They bring a message-
the six who wait, the one who flies
on this seventh day of the seventh month…
