APOLOGY TO A SPIDER

by Maria Remedios “Dette” Kaplan-Brown

As I tear down your web I wonder
Are you shocked and terrified
Or are you cool about it
Planning your next new web site?

My apologies little spider
But convention dictates
That my home be spotless
Fragrant, clean and spotless.

This piece of earth you call home
Is mine, so documents say.
But you continue to go about your business
Not caring at all.

Little spider travelling light
Not worried about money, no mortgage in sight
The world’s your real estate, sky’s the limit
Would you trade worlds with me sometimes?
