THE PENDULUM

by Jaime T. Licauco

The Pendulum swings back and forth,
Incessantly swings back and forth.
The very thought of it recalls.
To mind life’s final, dreadful walls.

A time elapse each swing denotes,
How fleeting is this life of coats.
To love no sooner have we begun,
Than all at once our love is gone!

To thee so now I do implore,
Do answer now and dally no more,
The Pendulum swings back and forth,
Swings back and forth, swings back and forth.
