I OFT HAVE WONDERED WHY

by Jaime T. Licauco

I oft have wondered why,
That nature blessed you,
With a delightful eye,
And a smile as sweet as honeydew.

While to others, she equally,
Has rendered uncomely,
For cruel lovers to detest,
And some, even to molest.

But, to my loving eye, maybe,
Nature thought you more worthy
Of this boon of beauty,
For lovers to adore and see.
