NO PASSPORT NEED

by Claire Baker

Come, let us join the multitudes
on the journey
toward peace.
We, the people:

motley, memorable,
poised unprepared,
gay, and not so happy,
handicapped and holy,
varying, yet all the same –
getting out of our own way.
No tether, weather or war
stops our journey,
our passage.
Peacefully we go,
peaceably we stay.
Peacefully we go, at peace
we stay. On our journey,
our passage, no war stops us,
no tether or weather.
We vary, yet are all
the same, getting out of
our own way.
