OBSERVATIONS OF A POET

by Rex B. Valentine

With poetry, one can write a whole chapter in one line;
especially if there is love between the words.
The fun of reminiscing is greatly heightened
when participants remember and compare common experiences.
Dreams become real when later shared with a friend.
One can fill in the blank spaces and leap from a sketchy scene
to one that is vivid, by building one’s own bridges
on the spot with new-born facts.
Many times goals can be reached without negatives
if one overlooks the “what-ifs”.
Doubts may be removed or cancelled out
by euphoric X’s in enthusiastic boxes.
