AMIDST THE MIST

Near Alice Springs, at Simpsons Gap, so happily hidden
Amidst the natural misty mountains dew
Where an aura of peace lingers and heaven lives
This magnificent beautiful scenery which truly gives

There, the tiny brook breaks into music sweet
Heralding the echoes from boulders, strong and steep
Where an air of enchantment, so powerful and deep
Penetrates the speechless and senses tweet

Tis, where the hopeful hearts long to be here for all eternity
Where hearts heal and souls happily restore to infinity
Away from the reality of humanity woes
Forgetting a world of war, treachery and formidable foes

Dispelling all negativity amidst the mist
Believing in peace, joy and love, truly exist
Where at Simpsons Gap, where hearts flutter and thrill in ecstasy
The spirit enlightens, amidst the mist

FEARLESS

Upon Death Valley, we stood speechless
Looking through the mountains of boldness
Each colored rock of greatness
The scenery was fearless

Further down at Panamint Springs, we stood in quietness
Awestruck, a feeling of gladness
The cactus and oasis brought a sense of goodness
The desert was timeless

O! What beauty lies in the wilderness!
Our hearts filled with tenderness
At God’s boundless creation, so priceless
Will Humanity treasure this with Kindness?

Soon, to leave with sadness
In the log cabin, left a note with faithfulness
We will return some day with eagerness
To touch the grains of sand with inscription “FEARLESS”

Tis, a lesson learnt from the mountains
That in all situations, big or small
Hopeless, that may be but to remain.....
FEARLESS.....FEARLESS.....FEARLESS.....

THE ROCK OF AGES

On Mount Wellington, high above I stand
This magnificent breath-taking, this picturesque view in sight
With ridges, waterfalls, streams and creeks
The Rock of Ages 240 million years old, stood on site
A harvest of trees with branches bent in awe
Fauna and Flora, a part of it all

The feeling’s so overwhelming as I stand
The strong winds blew, my pretty hairs strayed
My face bashed, icy and cold, my body numb to the bone
My feet jellied on pebbles beneath the soil but still I stood in awe

As I see the shining skies glittering with silver and gold
Hobart, a beautiful city down below, with yachts at harbor front
And some in the sea of changing shades of blue
It’s all too wonderful, all too awesome
A witness to God’s glory, a scenery unbelievably so!

But sad to leave, it’s nightfall
My lungs fully choked with breaths of icy winds
And as I leave, my body shivered to the core
The Rock of Ages, ageless to withstand all ages, still stood firmly on site
Heroically guarding this magnificent sight for many ages more!
